Meal Ideas for Late Summer and Early Fall
While we were away for a week this summer (almost completely unplugged!), I took some time to take stock of how I was feeling about home, family, work, and management.
Mostly I’ve been feeling really blah when it comes to cooking meals and figuring out what we should be eating. We do meal plan a week at a time, and this helps the flow of when I shop and cook. But we often cycle through the same meals each week and it gets boring.
👉🏻 MEAL PLAN + MARKET LIST: I’ve been using this free printable created by my friend Laura for about 6 months now and it’s been a game changer for staying organized.
I took some time to brainstorm some meals that I really enjoy to eat at this time of year so that I can refer back to it when I’m planning my week of shopping. There’s something really special about late summer and early fall that combines the most delicious flavours and reminds me of how joyous it can be to gather with others around a table during cooler nights. I also needed to sort out which meals can be cooked in advance (like midday) and easily warmed up for us to eat on busy nights or days that I’m working.
These are written in no particular order and combine mains with side dishes. If you are interested in specific recipes, reach out and I can pass them along!
